About the Position

The Communication and Media Engagement Intern will support ACS’s science communication, digital media, branding, and public outreach activities. The internship is designed for students interested in communicating scientific research to policymakers, practitioners, donors, and the wider public.

The intern will assist in transforming complex climate science into accessible communication products while supporting the organization’s website, social media platforms, newsletters, and multimedia content.

Specific Terms of Reference include

• Draft news stories and website articles.
• Develop social media content and communication campaigns.
• Assist in preparing newsletters and press releases.
• Support editing of reports and publications.
• Produce infographics and visual communication materials.
• Assist in website content management.
• Monitor media coverage and communication performance.
• Support dissemination of scientific outputs and policy briefs.

Requirements

• Final-year MSc student or PhD candidate in Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Climate Communication, Graphic Design, Environmental Communication, or related disciplines.
• Excellent academic performance
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools is desirable.
• Familiarity with social media management.
• Strong interest in climate change and sustainable development.

Terms of Employment

• Home-based internship.
• Duration: 3–6 months (renewable based on performance).
• Flexible working hours compatible with academic commitments.

• Certificate of completion and recommendation letter upon successful completion.
